Soap

The latest video taken from “We Humans” is called “Soap” and was premiered by The 405 earlier this week! The clip stars a bar of soap and some water. “Simple, but effective”, says the reviewer. We cannot but agree.

This is the 8th video out of 12 songs off the new album and there’s plenty of very good stuff so far. You can see all the videos on our YouTube-page or on here and if you like what you hear, you can purchase the album or the recent 7" single from our shop, Amazon, iTunes, Rough Trade, Norman Records or your local record store!

Rough Trade Pics

The Rough Trade instore on Bank Holiday Weekend was great!

We filled the shop with sounds from dictaphones, megaphones, toy pianos, taiko drums and desk bells. We even got the superhero costumes out…

Boxes

The new video for “Boxes”, made by Keiko Sumida, is here!

Calling it a short film would probably do it more justice - a love story set amidst some ugly/pretty modernist East London urban boxes.

This is of course one side of our new AA-sided 7", which is out this week and available to buy from Rough Trade, Norman Records, Amazon, iTunes and our own shop, together with the album it’s taken from.

If you like it, buy your copy online now or get your copy in person from us when we play at Rough Trade West this Saturday, August 24th.

Nice words

There’s been some very nice reviews over the last few days!

“And the award for the weirdest album of the year goes to…We Humans by French For Cartridge”, according to ClosewatchWe’re especially liking the bit where the reviewer calls the first three songs “the strangest opening salvo from an album I’ve heard in a long, long time.” Just like we intended.

But our favourite is this one from Rocksucker, who gives “Piff Paff Pow” 4/5 in their Best Singles Of The Week-column:

“Ridiculously eccentric, and jolly lovely with it. It’s rare for something to be quaint and berserk at the same time, but this succeeds valiantly. This is completely off its rocker and we bloody loves it for it…How is it even possible that this comes from the same planet as Travis’s new single?”

We were also mentioned on Drowned in Sound’s weekly singles write-up, The Chap remix of “We Humans” was played on this month’s svelte selection and we were again featured on Art School Dancing on Castle FM in Edinburgh.

Don’t forget to buy your copy of the new 7" from all the usual places or come and see us at Rough Trade West on Saturday and get it then!
