Spiders

The next song to be revealed from our new album is called “Spiders”. It received its premiere in Antarctica a few days ago, when a group of scientists from the CLEOPATRA II project recorded a special introduction to the song.

The song came to life as part of a Groundlift.org collaboration, where a group of musicians were asked to compose music separately to the same one minute video clip made by Groundlift head honcho S. Husky Höskulds. Some of these are now up on the collective’s website and we liked ours so much it ended up on the new album. There was only one problem with the video in that it features a spider in a quite prominent role and Catherine suffers from rather severe arachnophobia… so it ended up being a short, slightly nervous, protest song about the benefits of emigrating to Antarctica - apparently the only land mass on earth where there are no spiders!

Hope you enjoy it!

Extra big thank you to Daniel and everyone at CLEOPATRA II and the Rijpfjorden excursion for making this possible.
