This week

So, the first single from our new album, “We Humans”, was released this week. If you haven’t seen Dorna Aslanzadeh’s fantastic video for it, it’s well worth a look below here or on YouTube.

First to pick up on it was Organ and Call Upon The Author - some nice words from both and a particularly entertaining post from the former, complete with links to early 80s Canadian hard rock. The song was also featured on the svelte selection radio show amongst some very fine company and on the rather excellent and slightly mysterious King of Uza. Causing a lot of excitement, particularly amongst the shoe wearing contingent of the band, was our appearance on the Tracey Neuls blog as well.

There’s lots more happening soon…to stay up to date, you can follow us on Twitter or like us on Facebook.

Pre-order the new French For Cartridge album, “We Humans”, from the shop now and guarantee entry to the record release party on July 14th or for immediate ownership download the first single from iTunes.

WE HUMANS

BAM!

PIFF!

PAFF!

POW!

We are back!

The first single from the new French For Cartridge album, “We Humans”, is released today. Helped along by the symphonic backing of the Bratislava Radio Orchestra, the title track is a reflection on human and virtual realities, computers that store your memories and fearless scientific pioneers.

Dorna Aslanzadeh (remember the dancing man from last time around?) has directed a fantastically haunting video for the song featuring Swedish actress Elmira Arikan. Is it Nordic noir or Lynchian existentialism - you decide. We think it’s something altogether more interesting - watch the video on YouTube or download the song from iTunes straight away.

Starting from today, you can also pre-order the new album directly from us here. We take £10 of your money and give you the new “We Humans” album when it is released in July as well as a “Good Citizen” Oyster card holder (passport wallet if you’re not London-based) and one of our popular “Pink, Yellow, Red & Green” T-shirts (while stocks lasts). More importantly, pre-ordering the album is the only way to guarantee entry for you and a friend to our launch party on July 14th in East London. The venue for this is very special and intimate, so entry is restricted for what promises to be a fun night. Building on the album theme of humans, fun fairs, brass bands and sounds of toys, you can expect a celebration out of the ordinary that you don’t want to miss!

“We Humans” is the long-awaited follow-up to “Liquorice” from 2010 - an album Artrocker gave 4 stars, Byron Coley talked up in The Wire,  Pigeons & Planes agreed was ‘weird and lovely" and God Is In The TV called “sleeper hit of the year”.

And what about the comic book related exclamations alluded to at the beginning of this message? Well, there will be more about that later. In fact, there will be more about a lot, later. You can expect all sorts of things, both musical and non-musical, happening in French For Cartridge-land all through summer! So make sure you like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter or keep checking back to our newly designed website to make sure you don’t miss anything as we will be posting new things all the time.
